Walls
2022
In 2022, following Mahsa Amini's death, cities across Iran echoed with protests. Calls for justice and change were vividly displayed on walls, streets, and public spaces. Each night, these messages faced the regime's efforts to erase them, as words were wiped clean or transformed into something else. My photography project captures these acts of covering and altering, symbolizing how the regime tried to suppress the people's voices during the protests. Through my photographs, I show not only the physical erasure of words but also the broader attempts to control and alter the narrative of the protestors. This collection is a testimony to the enduring spirit of resistance and the constant struggle between truth and censorship.
